Laser hair removal

Calmer, smoother, on your terms

Medical-grade laser treats unwanted hair on the face and body, working at the root to slow regrowth for long-term, permanent hair reduction over a course of treatments. It can also help with ingrown hairs, and is a lasting alternative to the shave-and-wax routine.

Benefits

Top reasons to choose laser hair removal

A few of the reasons clients choose a course of laser over shaving or waxing.

  • Long-term hair removal. A course works at the root: the hairs it treats are gone for good, and what does grow back comes through finer and sparser. No course clears every follicle, which is why the clinical term is permanent hair reduction
  • Save time and money. Less time spent shaving, waxing or plucking, and better value over the years than an ongoing routine
  • Clear, smooth skin. Smooth, stubble-free skin between appointments, without the shadow and regrowth that follow shaving
  • Feel more confident. Many clients say they feel more comfortable and less self-conscious about the treated area
  • Ready whenever you are. Holidays, the gym and the pool without planning around your next shave or wax
  • Low maintenance. No growing hair out between sessions as waxing needs, and only occasional top-ups once your course is done
  • Fewer ingrown hairs. Can help reduce ingrown hairs and razor rash for some clients
  • Medical reasons. Some clients are referred or come on medical grounds, which we will talk through at your consultation
  • All genders welcome. Suitable for areas across the face and body alike

Have tattoos? Tattoos are not a barrier to laser hair removal. The laser is never used directly over tattooed skin, we treat carefully up to the edge of the tattoo and leaves the inked area untouched.

Advanced skin & aesthetics

We have a wide range of skin and aesthetics treatments available

Alongside laser hair removal, we have built a considered advanced skin and aesthetic treatment range. Every treatment below starts with a face-to-face consultation, so nothing is booked until it's right for you.

I've been having laser hair removal with Michelle and have seen a huge difference. The hair is much finer and sparser, and my skin feels so much smoother and looks healthier. I noticed results from the very first few sessions.

Amazing experience and amazing results, not even half way through my treatment course and the difference already has shocked me! If I knew it was so easy and results could be seen so quickly I’d of done this years ago! Michelle makes you feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. If you’re thinking about doing laser hair removal, do it! 😊

Joanna S., Google review

Was a bit anxious when I came for my first session with Michelle but I can honestly say that all disappeared instantly when we got started! The most professional and comfortable environment to be in for this without a doubt. Love the chats we have while carrying out the treatment, a proper girls session for me and I really enjoy going, cannot recommend enough.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything clients ask most, before their first laser session.

Why choose laser hair removal over shaving or waxing?

Laser targets hair at the root, so most clients see less regrowth over a course of treatments than they would with shaving or waxing, which only ever remove hair at the surface. It also means less time spent on hair removal at home, and no need to grow hair out between appointments as you would for waxing.

What are the benefits of laser hair removal?

For most clients, a course of laser can mean a long-term reduction in hair growth, smoother-feeling skin, and less time spent shaving, waxing or plucking. It can also help reduce ingrown hairs and razor rash for some clients. Results vary from person to person, and we will talk through what you can realistically expect at your free consultation.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal offers permanent hair reduction rather than permanent removal. A course of treatments can significantly reduce regrowth over time, with occasional maintenance sessions to keep results looking their best. Results vary between clients, and nothing can be guaranteed.

What do I need to do before my treatment?

Shave the treatment area 12 to 24 hours before your appointment, and exfoliate it 3 days before. Avoid excessive sun exposure on the area for 14 days beforehand, and do not apply moisturiser, perfume or other products to the area on the day. Please avoid waxing or hair removal creams for 4 weeks before your first session.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your hair type, the treatment area and your skin, and we will talk it through with you at your consultation. Most clients follow a course of 6 sessions at 2 to 4 week intervals, followed by occasional maintenance sessions to keep results looking their best.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most clients describe a slight tingling sensation rather than pain, and it is generally more comfortable than waxing. More sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, can feel a little more noticeable.

I have tattoos, can I still have laser hair removal?

Yes, tattoos are not a barrier to laser hair removal. The laser is never used directly over tattooed skin, so we treat carefully up to the edge of the tattoo and leave the inked area itself untouched. Let us know about any tattoos at your consultation so we can plan your treatment around them.

Do you carry out a patch test?

A patch test helps check how your skin responds to the laser before treatment begins. We will explain exactly when this happens as part of your free consultation.

What aftercare do I need?

Protect the treated area from the sun and keep heat and perfumed products away from it for a day or two. We will give you personalised aftercare advice for your skin at every appointment.

Will laser hair removal work on my skin and hair type?

Laser works on many combinations of skin tone and hair colour, but not every one. We will assess your hair and skin at your free consultation and give you an honest view of the results you can expect.

Do you treat all genders?

Yes. Laser hair removal is available for all genders, with treatment plans tailored to the areas and hair type you want treated.

Where is the clinic, and is there parking?

The clinic is in Symonds Green, Stevenage, and there is free parking directly outside, so you can pull up and walk straight in. We give you the full address when your appointment is arranged.

How do I get started?

Send an enquiry through the contact page, or call or message us directly. We will talk through your goals, check the treatment is suitable, and answer any questions before anything is arranged. The first meeting is a free consultation, with no pressure to go ahead afterwards.

What happens at the consultation?

We will look at the treatment area, talk through your hair and skin, explain how the laser works and what to expect, and answer any questions. There is no pressure to commit on the spot, and the consultation itself is free.
